VISITS

Tickets for visits should be booked in advance from: Joanna Matthews, 7 Church Way, Iffley, Oxford OX4 4DY. Please make your cheque payable to 'Oxfordshire Gardens Trust' and include a SAE return of tickets and directions.

Saturday, 4th September. Summer party at Radcot House, near Faringdon.   

From 5.30pm. A splendid modern garden round an old Cotswold manor house, with an orchard and even a swimming pool which you can use. Tickets: £10, includes a glass of wine, a buffet supper and a contribution of £5 to the National Gardens Scheme. Tickets available by contacting membership@ogt.org.uk, by 31 August with the names of any guests.

LECTURES 

All lectures are at Kellogg College, 62 Banbury Road, Oxford. Doors open at 7.30pm for lecture at 8pm. Pay at the door (members £4, guests £6). Ticket price includes a glass of wine or juice.

Thursday, 14th October. Capability Brown before Stowe. Steffie Shields, Vice Chair of the Association of Gardens Trusts, will talk about Brown's early work in Lincolnshire.

Thursday, 11th November. Medieval parks in England. Dr Stephen Mileson is assistant editor of the Victoria County History of Oxfordshire and author of a recently-published book 'Parks in Medieval England'.

Thursday, 2nd December. The Blenheim Landscape - new research and recent discoveries.Jeri Bapasola is research archivist at Blenheim and author of 'The Finest View in England: The Landscape and Gardens of Blenheim Palace'. Jeri will talk about the evolution of the landscape over 300 years.
